Family Music Classes

Engage in meaningful musical activities with your child in a playful, natural environment. This sequential music program patterns musical-learning after language-learning using Montessori teaching techniques.

Level 1

Sing, chant, move, dance, listen and play simple instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingles, rattles, drums and resonator bars with your toddler. Lessons feature activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement for coordination, body awareness and control. Up to two years of curriculum offered for this age group. Parent/helper participation encouraged.

Level II

Your child will continue to develop musical independence and self-expression through singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling with activities involving the four seasons in a musical context. Up to one year of curriculum offered for this age group. Prerequisite: Level 1 encouraged, but not required. Parent/helper participation encouraged.

Level III

Continued instruction that establishes a solid music foundation for your child– tuning the voice, developing aural skills, promoting control of gross and fine motor movements, and cultivating musical skills and interest as they experience an ever-increasing repertoire of songs, stories, and poetry. Singing and moving are emphasized with introductions to music notation and note reading. Parent/helper participation encouraged. One year of curriculum offered for this age group.
